http://www.elsew.com "Blade Runner" has often proved to be a topic that can set the internet in its highest gears, as became clear once again when Vangelis' assistent producer and sound engineer Frederick Rousseau wrote an article in the blog on his web site about finishing work on a new Vangelis "Blade Runner" project. In no time at all, Blade Runner sites and forums throughout the world started refering to this article and both movie and music fans speculated - sometimes quite wildly - about what this all means. Here are the details of the current situation, from reliable sources close to Vangelis: A project is currently in completion that should lead to the release of a new Vangelis album, linked to and inspired by Blade Runner. This may or may not include some music created at the time of the original movie, but the bottom line is: Things have not been finalized. The content, or the format it will be released in may still change or has yet to be decided. There is also - at this point - no schedule for its release. In short, the good news is that Vangelis has been hard at work, and we have something new to look forward to, especially exciting to everyone who loved Vangelis' Blade Runner music. More complete information will become available at a later date. You will be able to read it here...

A few new details on Vangelis' expected "Blade Runner Trilogy" release, as more rumors from the music industry are coming in. The first disk, which is the album as we know it now, contains its usual 12 tracks. The same number of tracks can be heard on the second disk, indicated as "previously unreleased and bonus material", as well as the third disk, with "music composed for Blade Runner's 25th Anniversary". Thus, the complete set contains a total of 36 tracks, 24 of them previously unreleased. Apparently, it will be packaged in a digipack and includes still photographs from the movie and liner notes by Ridley Scott. A few details have leaked about the new music (disk 3). It was of course composed, arranged, produced and performed by Vangelis, but reportedly includes guest performances on saxophone on two tracks and a ney (ancient wind instrument) on one track. Furthermore, in line with Blade Runner's multi cultural urban atmosphere, Vangelis has included spoken word, with the help of a range of distinguished actors, directors, and world dignitaries. The set should be released by Universal Music UK somewhere mid December, simultaneously in both the US and all major European markets. Official confirmation and more details (track listing, etc) are expected to be released by Universal Music very soon now.

sprawa nabiera pewnych rumieńców... cytat (dość długi) z innego źródła: Cytat: Celebrated Greek composer of such films as “Chariots of fire”, “Blade Runner”, “1429 – the conquest of Paradise”, “Alexander”, “Bitter Moon” and the brilliant “Mythodea - Music for the NASA Mission, 2001 Mars Odyssey” finally returns in the film music area after a long absence of two years. Scoremagacine could confirm his assignment on one of the most ambitious projects ever to be launched from Greece. “El Greco” was in pre-production for 7 years and filming will finally begin in the end of August, 2006. The movie is a large European co production between Greece, England, Spain and Italy, with its cast and crew coming from all of the four countries. Greek director and frequent Vangelis collaborator, Yannis Smaragdis (“Kavafi”) will lead the project which will be based on the biographical novel Demetris Siatopoulos wrote on Dominikos Theotokopoulos (El Greco real name), entitled : “El Greco: the painter of God”. British writer Jackie Pavlenko is responsible for the screenplay and the director who can’t reveal the international cast yet, stated that as far as its Greek side is concerned, actors like Lakis Lazopoulos (who will play El Greco close friend, Nikolos the shepherd), G.Michalakopoulos, Dina Konsta and G.Mpezos will participate among others. The movie will follow the life of El Greco when he was 26 years old, just before he left his birthplace, the island of Crete, until the age of 40; his path to the light and God. hm. jest mi ciut lepiej, ale wciąż myślę, jak to będzie żeby V. robił drugi raz to samo. cheers

Cytat: Although final confirmation has yet to come in on this, fans will be glad to hear rumors within the music industry are buzzing frantically about Vangelis' upcoming Blade Runner related release. It was late in June when word first broke Vangelis had been composing music for a new album related to Blade Runner, but it wasn't yet clear in which way this would be released. Here finally are some details, according to some very excited insiders. The new release will be a deluxe set, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Blade Runner movie. Described as a three CD package titled "Blade Runner Trilogy", the set is said to start with the Blade Runner soundtrack as we know it from the official 1994 release. The second disk would present both music from the film not previously released on LP or CD (the notorious bootlegs excepted), as well as music made for the movie at the time, which was neither used nor released in any shape or form. Finally, the third disk would be Vangelis' expected new album, inspired by and thematically linked to Blade Runner. Personally, I think a lot of people were dreaming about unreleased music from the film finally appearing on CD, while others dreamt of Vangelis returning to the dark melancholic moods played on synthesizers that peeked on the popular Blade Runner soundtrack, by creating new music in the same vein, but I've never heard anyone who dared to openly dream about both of these at the same time... With early word being strongly positive about the results, this could be the answer to what literally everyone has been longing for. Confirmation and more details expected soon... Expectations are that "Blade Runner Trilogy" will be released in December. Time to start writing those Christmas wish lists... Download Opis
Music : Electro / Techno : Lossless Future Sound Of London (FSOL) - Dead Cities (1996) (FLAC-EAC-CUE) Future Sound Of London Biography by allmusic.com. Biography by Sean Cooper First recognized as the dance duo behind the club hits "Stakker" (as Humanoid) and "Papua New Guinea," Future Sound of London later became one of the most acclaimed and respected international experimental ambient groups, incorporating elements of techno, classical, jazz, hip-hop, electro, industrial, and dub into expansive, sample-heavy tracks, often exquisitely produced and usually without easy precursor. Notoriously enigmatic and often disdainful of the press, the group's Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans worked their future-is-now aesthetic into a variety of different fields, including film and video, 2- and 3-D computer graphics and animation, the Internet, radio broadcast, and, of course, recorded music. Although they usually disdain their earlier work as play-for-pay club fare not representative of their later musical vision, many of the thematic concerns of their earlier 12"s and their first, heavily dance-oriented LP, Accelerator, followed them into their later work. Usually filed under ambient, that work is often much more than that, drawing from the history of experimental electronic music with a relentlessness that has helped to push the calmer elements of that genre's reputation into decidedly more difficult directions. The pair also grew in repute as remixers, obliterating tracks by Curve, Jon Anderson, David Sylvian and Robert Fripp, and Apollo 440, and rebuilding pieces of almost majestic complexity with the remnants. The duo's works of the mid- to late '90s -- Lifeforms, ISDN, and Dead Cities -- were important stopping points on the road of rabid hybridization characteristic of post-rave European experimental electronica (ambient, jungle, trip-hop, ambient dub, etc.), and the pair's somewhat punk rock attitude (despite their success) did much to underscore the scene's underground roots. After a lengthy hiatus marked by rumors of mental illness and a cottage lifestyle, Cobain and Dougans returned in 2002 with The Isness, a record heavily influenced by '60s and '70s psychedelia. Dead Cities album review from allmusic.com Review by Ned Raggett Dead Cities turned out to be the Future Sound of London's bow out from the spotlight -- at least, nothing further was released by them for the rest of the decade and well into the next one. Compared to the crisp approach of Accelerator and Lifeforms' disorienting, surprising exploration into ambient sound, Dead Cities finds the group trying out something new yet again. The theme of the album, thoroughly explored in the art (as always, created by the group itself), seems to be one of futuristic urban decay, almost as if reacting against the perceived otherwordliness of Lifeforms, calmer moments like the acoustic guitar shimmer of "Her Face Forms in Summertime" aside. Hints of cyberpunk fetishism and atmospheres are everywhere, combined with a generally darker sound track for track and more upfront beats on a number of songs. "My Kingdom," a spooky choice for the initial single, blends in low-pitched drones with the echoing shuffle of the main rhythm, suggesting a Japanese city set somewhere in the outback after all the world's power finally ran out. As a further touch, the overall Blade Runner feeling of Dead Cities is heightened even more via the sampling of Mary Hopkin's haunting, wordless vocals from that film's soundtrack. The collage approach that has served the band well over the years recurs time and again -- snippets from unreleased spoken word performances and reworked orchestrations float up and down in the mix, feeling like an unusual sonic tour. That said, two of the strongest moments on Dead Cities -- the amazing single "We Have Explosive" and its semi-remix "Herd Killing," which starts the album -- come from the same source, namely Run-DMC. The brutal guitar stab and accompanying wah-wah and shout, which define both tracks, come from the Tougher Than Leather album, here reshuffled into a brusque, memorable punch with a killer, buzzing bassline.
